New graduate Alex likes to get out of his comfort zone

Alex Cole is Joyce’s most recent graduate program recruit. Alex has almost completed a Bachelor of Business, with a major in marketing and sub-major in business law, at the University of Technology Sydney. With only one subject to go – German language 1 – Alex is happy to be part of the Joyce team.

He recently worked in a combination role of Telesales and Account Management.

“This has prepared me for the customer-centric focus that Joyce embodies. Through speaking with customers every day, I understand how all facets of the business are linked to our customers”, said Alex.

The aim of the Joyce graduate program is to help people learn about all aspects of the business, increasing their all-round skills and capabilities.

“As I’m only 21, I believe my greatest accomplishments are yet to come. I worked in my previous job while completing my university degree. It was quite a high-pressure environment, but the experience was invaluable. I’m now learning new skills at Joyce, and I’m sure this will help prepare me for future endeavours.”

Though focused on his career, Alex admits to having been bitten by the travel bug.

“My goal is to visit at least 100 countries. Having gone all around Australia, part of Europe, South-Africa, Vietnam and the French Islands, I’m almost a fifth of the way there.”

“I’ll try anything that pushes me out of my comfort zone. From shark cage diving with Great-Whites in South-Africa, to eating snake heart in Vietnam. I’m always keen to get out of my comfort zone.  Next on my list is sky-diving and bungy-jumping.”

When not seeking adventure, Alex loves anything sport related.

“I’ve played many different sports competitively and follow the English Premier League religiously. My mates and I are always out playing games or out somewhere to watch them. Whether it’s the footy, ice hockey or even darts, we tend to get amongst any and every sport”, Alex enthused.
