Helping to transform the lives of girls and women in remote India

Joyce Foam Products is pleased to support the work of IIMPACT Australia in India. By sponsoring their educational and social support programs, we’re helping to address gender inequality and disadvantage, giving girls an opportunity to transform their future and the future of their whole community.

Just like girls all over the world, girls in rural India dream of a bright future. To become a teacher, a nurse, an engineer. But because of poverty and gender inequality, their dreams are often out of reach.

About IIMPACT Australia

Since 2003, IIMPACT Australia has been partnering with local NGOs to support girls’ education in rural communities. Working in parts of India where the literacy level is extremely poor, they offer free primary school education to girls aged 6 to 14 years.

And their record is impressive. In their 18 years of operation, they’ve established more than 2,000 learning centres, providing academic, emotional, and social support for over 100,000 girls.

Their aim is simple. To have a positive impact on the lives of girls living in rural India. To support their right to learn, the right to be happy, the right to have hope.

Why Joyce Foam chose to support IIMPACT Australia

As our parent company is based in India, we felt a special connection to the people of that country. The two Learning Centres we’ve sponsored are in the State of Uttarakhand, in the foothills of the Himalayan mountain ranges.

Typically, each Learning Centre accommodates 30 girls between the ages of 6 and 14. Our sponsorship supports teacher salaries, educational materials, and NGO resources to train and coordinate service delivery.

We are delighted to be helping such a wonderful initiative to make a difference with the gift of education to girls in rural India” explained Frank van Gogh, Joyce Foam’s CEO. “We have strong ties to India through our parent company. They have contributed so much to our success in Australia, that it is only appropriate that we support some development of India in return.”
